City of Roy
Planning Commission
NOTICE of PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
Regarding
Shoreline Master Plan Update
Tuesday, February 15, 2011
City Hall, 216 McNaught St S, Roy, WA 7:00pm
Washington State’s Shoreline Management Act (SMA)
requires jurisdictions that contain “shorelines of the
state” within their boundaries, including Roy, to
periodically update their Shoreline Master Programs
(SMPs).
The SMP is used as a planning document that sets
policy and regulation for the City’s shoreline areas,
including adjacent upland areas within 200 feet of
designated shorelines and associated wetlands and
floodplain areas. These areas include approximately
1,000 linear feet of lakeshore/wetland associated with
Muck Lake, and approximately 1,100 linear feet of
shoreline associated with Muck Creek.
You are receiving this notice because you may own
property within (or adjacent to) the City’s regulated
shoreline area, or you or your organization may have
been identified as having a potential interest. During
the open house:
· The City’s shorelines consultant, AHBL, will provide an overview of the Draft Shoreline Master Program.
· Additional information will be provided to summarize future steps in the SMP Update process that will take place during 2011.
We welcome your questions and encourage you to stay informed and participate in the SMP Update process.
