Roy City Library has reciprocal agreements with Timberland Library, Pierce County Library System and Puyallup Public Library. 

Friends of the Roy City Library operate an ongoing book sale during regular library hours. More information and membership forms are available at the library during regular library hours. Contact Cecelia Hanson for more information on joining the Friends of the Roy Library.

The City of Roy Library Advisory Board consists of volunteers who are appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council. The board consists of five members who serve five-year terms. The board holds open public meetings quarterly. The Board's advisory purpose is to advise the city council on matters of:

  • supervision, care and custody of all library property
  • annual budget for the operation of the library
  • purchase of supplies, materials, equipment and services for the library's operation
  • policy for the selection of books, periodicals, maps, materials and information services
  • such other matters as the mayor or the council may request of the board

The board also acts in an advisory capacity by:

  • helping to establish long-range plans for the library
  • setting policies that align with the library mission and support customers and staff
  • evaluating the effectiveness of the library
  • advocating for the library

The mayor is accepting letters of interest for advisory board positions.

Annual Open House:  first Friday in December at the library from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the tree lighting by City Hall next door
